Are you afraid you’re going to lose yourself once you become a parent and burn out? Don’t want to make decisions out of fear? We’ve got you!
“Becoming Two & Keeping You is a much needed resource for all moms and professionals supporting moms. Unlike other books that solely focus on mental health, nutrition, or how to exercise for pregnancy and postpartum, this is a one-stop-shop since it is written by a mental health therapist, pelvic floor physical therapist, and nutritionist. It provides a holistic approach with easy to follow chapters which include workbook style journal prompts for moms to write out their responses, meal planning, and steps for how to better communicate with their loved ones. For professionals, this is a great resource for your expecting and postpartum clients for additional support between appointments. Clients have said it’s easy for them to put into practice, has helped them better understand their bodies, and has improved their connection with their partners about their needs during this transitional and important phase in their life.” -Jacqueline Ansbrow, LCSW
Life is layered with so many factors that go into everything we think, feel, do, and experience. Balanced nutrition, physical strength, and mental and emotional health all impact and influence the way we live every minute of our lives.
So many clients ask for help when they are ALREADY totally burnt out, they’re on the verge of combusting, they’re experiencing pain and limitations, they don’t recognize or feel good about themselves, they’re exhausted, and they feel like running away!
We want to help you get the things in place to help yourself prevent feeling paralyzed or terrified that you won’t survive delivery and postpartum–we want to help you see the power you’ve got within you, while on the bumpiest ride of your life.
This project was inspired by, “Why didn’t anyone tell me this before?” and “I wish we had had this conversation before the baby was born.” We’re arming women and parents with much-needed information that isn’t emphasized or taught at all in typical prenatal/postpartum care. We’re highlighting things to look out for, help that’s available (and normalize asking for that help), the ability to build a foundation to help mitigate crises, and to empower. To empower women to model for their children/our next generation, what it actually means to take care of and value yourself as a complex human being, worthy of love and having a variety of needs met–even as a mom now. How else will they actually believe that about themselves if our generation of parents doesn’t actually practice it?
This collection of info, tips, and interactive exercises is for your peace of mind. Let’s learn, sort the information all out, and get you unstuck, so you can go into delivery, and then home, with more confidence.
